They're a great starter item to equip on a first playthrough, but you'll want to have some change on hand and check the TV on Sundays to get them. You'll also want to refrain from selling them, as they're required for one of Elizabeth's Requests. There are two ways you can buy the Max Safety Shoes in Persona 3 Reload. Thus, if you miss the first sale, you'll get your chance with another.
