Community rallies behind welding students after Highland High School fire

Highland High School's 2023 welding class.

POCATELLO — After the effects of the fire in April, Highland welding students have been able to continue learning their craft at ISU's facilities thanks to support from the community, according to a news release from ISU.

According to the news release, the fire caused smoke and electrical damage to Highland's welding room that caused it to be unusable. This led local businesses to donate new welding equipment to ISU's welding facilities that Highland students could use.
